The Cramer’s Park facility is ready for the annual Easter camping activity, which has become a traditional event on St. Croix, according to a press release issued Monday by the Department of Housing, Parks and Recreation.
Commissioner St. Claire N. Williams of the DHPR noted that all minor repairs have been addressed on site; shower heads are in place and ground maintenance has been performed. “Staff has been assigned to work throughout the weekend to maintain the restrooms, dispose of trash from the garbage receptacles and to provide lifeguard services. However, we request the assistance of the public in helping to maintain a clean environment of the facility and to report any unwarranted acts of vandalism that would destroy and damage the property, or that would affect the safety and enjoyment of the general public,” Williams said.
“The Department is also coordinating with the Virgin Islands Police Department to provide regular security patrol and to help in reducing vehicular traffic congestion. Accordingly, everyone using the Cramer’s Park Facility is asked to observe and follow all posted traffic signs and rules and regulations,” the commissioner said.
He also announced that picnic tables have been installed at the Estate Great Pond Park, formerly Camp Arawak. “Great Pond Park has a serene, peaceful atmosphere and is a great place to have family picnics and outings, and I encourage residents and visitors alike to utilize this beautiful, God-given natural resource for our enjoyment.”
