Fire Service Lifts Ban on Burning Permits

Daryl A. George, Assistant Director of the Virgin Islands Fire Service, announced on Monday that effective immediately the ban on burning permits has been lifted for the St. Thomas-St. John and St. Croix Districts, according to a press release from the Virgin Islands Fire Service. The ban was in effect due to the dry weather season.
“With the inclement weather over the past couple of weeks, the Fire Service is confident in lifting its ban on issuing burning permits,” Daryl A. George, assistant director said.
