The University of the Virgin Islands College of Science and Mathematics and the Etelman Observatory will host the first public observing session using the new Virgin Islands Robotic Telescope from 7:30-10:30 p.m. on next Wednesday, Aug. 1. The full moon will be on display as will views of the planets Mars and Saturn.
The evening will also feature a video presentation and discussion of the upcoming Mars landing of Curiosity, NASA’s largest and most technologically advanced rover ever sent to Mars in search of signs of water and evidence that Mars may have once been able to support life.
