Police on St. Thomas are investigating three separate assaults that occurred over the weekend. One man was arrested and charged with stabbing a man and two other victims were injured by gunshots, according to a news release from the V.I. Police Department.

About 2 a.m. Monday, police were dispatched to the Bliss Night Club where a nonfatal shooting occurred. When officers arrived they were told the victim had been taken to the Schneider Regional Medical Center in a private vehicle.

Witnesses told police that at least two shots fired inside the club had struck the victim. Officers traveled to the hospital and spoke to the 35-year-old man who said he was shot by a male for no apparent reason.

After the shooting the suspect fled the club on foot.

The victim was treated for two gunshots to his upper body.

Police are following leads and ask anyone with information about the case to call detectives at 714-9844, 714-9805 or at the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers VI, at 1-800-222-TIPS.

On Saturday, police were told that a person had been shot in the foot during an attempted robbery. Police spoke to the 49-year-old victim who said he was walking near the Department of Human Services parking lot at about 10:30 p.m. when a person he did not know approached him, pointed a gun at him and demanded his cell phone.

The victim told the suspect he did not have a cell phone and the suspect began shooting at him, striking him in his right foot. Police also saw that three vehicles in a nearby parking lot had been damaged by gunfire.

Police are also following leads in this case and urge anyone in the community who has further information on this shooting to call detectives.

On Friday, police arrested 25-year-old Ezekiel Daniel after he was identified as the man who stuck and stabbed another man during a fight at Coki Point Plaza.

Police alleged that Daniel assaulted a 59-year-old man at about 2:30 p.m. at the beach. Police said Daniel argued with the victim, punched him and then stabbed him on his right side.

The suspect allegedly then got into a vehicle and left the area. Police investigated the case and arrested Daniel at about 3:30 p.m., about one hour after the assault occurred.

Daniel was held on a $25,000 bail pending his court appearance.
