Employers Asked to Disregard Recently Mailed Unemployment Insurance Tax Bills
Local employers are advised to disregard the most recent Unemployment Insurance Tax Statement of Account mailed out within the past two weeks dated as early as Oct. 9.
The department is in the process of upgrading its system and the lack of a software upgrade caused the error in the printing of the statements, according to a press release issued Wednesday by the V.I. Department of Labor.
“The department apologizes for the inconvenience and appreciates the patience of the employers of the territory. The Unemployment Insurance staff is diligently working to correct this issue and generate new statements. Employers can expect to receive corrected statements within the next thirty days,” said Commissioner of Labor Albert Bryan, Jr.
