Leroy Marchena of Solberg died on Dec. 5 at the Schneider Regional Medical Center. He was 71 years old.
He is survived by his wife, Clarice Vessup Marchena; daughters: Nadine Kean and Yanique Swan; sons: Elroy Marchena and Rodney Knight; granddaughters: Nakeysha Marchena-Smith, R’Nya Marchena, Nadia Marchena, Tiana Thomas and Kerri Lynn Swan; grandson, Adrian Kean Jr.; daughter-in-law, Lisa Marchena; sons-in-law: Adrian Kean and Dorian Swan; brothers: Hiram Abiff, Earl Williams and Mario Marchena; sister, Lucita Roger; sisters-in-law: Beverly Vessup, Teryle Turnbull, Colleen Abiff and Laurie Williams; brothers-in-law: Ruel Vessup and Elvert Turnbull; grandson-in-law, Leonard Smith Jr.; great granddaughter, Rayna Smith; nieces: Tameka Dewindt, Shaneil Turnbull, Lynnique Hodge, Khadijah, Dhuha, Summayah and Annisaa Abiff, Cecilia Manago, Yvette Medina, Audrey Coleman, Pedrita Members, Farah, Karone, Pia and Courtney Roger and Tryphena Fleming; nephews: Garnett Hodge, Franklin Hodge Jr., Tiant DeWindt, Tavis DeWindt, Jaren Turnbull, Harim II, Shaheed, Haneef, Suni, Simba, Muhammad, Ismail, Muta and Abuel Abiff, Paige Williams, Albert and Aniscia Francis and Frandceau DeJour; cousins: Dorothy Prince, Rudolph Todman, Alfredo Thomas, Gov. Tributes will be given at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 21, at Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral. Interment will be private.
