Ridge to Reef Farm Celebrates With Smokey's Farmland Band

0

Many said last year’s welcome show was their hottest, and we hope to follow suit with another pig roast and vegetarian option Farm-B-Que featuring the searing-hot Smokey’s Farmland Band out of Atlanta, Georgia.
Help welcome the 2013 season at Ridge to Reef Farm as Smokey’s Farmland Band launches their third straight St. Croix New Year’s Tour on the VISFI Community Center lawn. Smokey’s Farmland band are five guys with serious chops and a playful take on some old school and their own original songs from their well-reviewed album "80 Mile Getaway." They’ve opened for the likes of Willie Nelson and Sam Bush.
On Sunday, Dec. 30, arrive as early as 6 p.m.; food and music starts 6:30-7 p.m. Come a little earlier to help out or walk around.
The cost is $25 for entertainment, local BBQ and all organic farm fresh salad, and all organic farm trimmings (vegetarian options). Bring a blanket or folding chair for the lawn. The farm will provide compostable plates that will go in a special receptacle for compost materials. If you bring your beer, please bring cans so they can be recycled.
Ridge to Reef farm’s road is in decent shape (bumpy pot holes), and we suggest coming up Creque Dam Road from Frederiksted by the waterfalls. Directions: http://www.ridge2reef.org/map–directions.html
Farm to Reef will have a sign-up list for its 2013 Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program. Spaces are limited.
RSVP’s not necessary but are appreciated.
