Evelyn Hamlin Sprauve, a former resident of St. Thomas, died on Tuesday, Dec. 25, in Duluth, Georgia. She was 91 years old.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose A. Sprauve Sr., former commissioner of Property and Procurement, and her daughter, Jacqueline Sprauve Hampton. She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Sprauve David; sons: Jose Sprauve Jr. and Leston Sprauve Sr.; grandsons: Rodney and Jeffrey Sprauve, Edwin Burgess, Mark “Ringo” and Dion David Sr., and Michael Hampton; granddaughters: Esther Meija, Monique David Brown, Angela David Griffin, Rashaan Chase George and Kia Hampton; sister, Janet Smalls; several great and great-great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and godchildren too numerous to mention.
The viewing will be held at 10 a.m. with the service following at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 31, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 3050 Cascade Road, SW, Atlanta, Georgia. Interment will be at Kennedy Memorial Gardens. Services have been entrusted to Williamson Mortuary LLC; Riverdale, Georgia.
