Two people were killed Saturday afternoon when the motorcycles they were riding collided on the Melvin Evans Highway near Frederiksted, according to the V.I. Police Department.

According to police, three motorcycles were traveling east on the highway when the accident occurred at 1:55 p.m. between the Good Hope and Carlton Road intersections.

Pedro Juan Reyes, 24, was pronounced dead on the scene.

Iris Felix-Johnson, 28, was transported by ambulance to the Juan F. Luis Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 3:50 p.m. The third rider was injured, according to police.

The accident is still under investigation VIP traffic investigative officers.
