Governor John P. deJongh Jr. will discuss strategic priorities for economic growth within the territory during his keynote address at the St. Croix Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 7. The Chamber of Commerce invites members and non-members to their annual meeting and 2012 Business Awards Breakfast. The event will be held at The Palms at Pelican Cove.
“The Chamber of Commerce is a critical partner in the economic development of the Virgin Islands,” Governor deJongh said. “It is my pleasure to participate in their upcoming 2013 Annual Membership Breakfast Meeting as a guest speaker to discuss strategic priorities of the government and to dialogue on our collective efforts to embrace this adaptable economy.
“Especially as we continue to re-position ourselves in an extremely competitive market, our forward progress depends on our ability to continue to encourage growth through innovation, entrepreneurship and investment,” Gov. deJongh said.
Attorney Mark Eckard, president of the Chamber’s 2013 Board of Directors, said the chamber will work to develop a stronger strategic partnership with the governor’s team this year.
“As the unified voice of St. Croix’s business community, the Chamber of Commerce is honored that Governor deJongh has, again, chosen the Chamber’s Annual Meeting as the forum for his first major policy speech following the State of the Territory Address,” Eckard said, adding, “The Chamber is very grateful for the governor’s proven partnership in its efforts to make St. Croix an even better place to own and operate a business.”
RSVP required. The breakfast costs $25 for members and $35 for nonmembers. Phone: 514-2535
