Rotary West Club Has Wheel Chair Drive

0

The Rotary West Club Community Outreach Program is seeking wheel chairs to distribute to residents in need, according to West Rotarian Clifford Christian.
“Physical impairments have left some residents incapacitated and unable to attend to simple household chores much less to leave their homes to run errands,” Christian began. “Rotary Club West often responds to urgent needs and matters. This is another situation we at the club are working to address. West Rotarians do the unexpected but always on target for the right causes and results.”
“We are proud of the role we are playing in the community. Our motto here at Rotary West says ‘Support Rotary, We Support Others,’” he said. “The need for wheel chairs is real and a serious challenge we face. While disposable income remains stagnant or decreasing, the cost of commodities, utilities and everyday necessities are skyrocketing, causing extra hardship on families already struggling to keep their physically challenged loved ones fed and lodged. We appeal to all community-minded residents to take this opportunity to help others,” Christian said.
Persons may drop off wheel chairs between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the Rotary West Community Center located east of the Paul E. Joseph Stadium in Frederiksted.
