Malzina Irene (Blake) Hodge of Frangipani Monbijou was born May 18, 1923. She died on Feb. 2 at Southern Maryland Hospital, located at 7503 Surrated, Clinton, Maryland 20735.
She is survived by her children: Raymond, Ursula and Carol; sisters: Alice and Sue; brothers: Charles, George, Thomas, William, Henry, Nathan and Peter (Archdeacon of the Eastern Caribbean Diocese); grandchildren: M. Pierre, Raymond, Kevynn, Khema, Kwante and Kory; great-grandchildren: Marvin, Jaden, Keaira and Amirah; nieces and nephews: Merle, Joycelyn, Meridith, Ingrid, Joycelyn, Carol, Kathy, Amy, Dawn, Noel, Lloyd, Andrew, Alvin and Brian; in-laws: Margaret, Rebecca, Liz, Helen, Rose, Alaric and Duane; relatives and special friends: Wanda, Delores, Lorraine, Florence, Janet (Sister), Marva, Euralis, Lelia, Gittens, the Turner’s of Virginia, the Frangipani community, and the brothers and sisters of St. John’s Episcopal Church.
A viewing will take place at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 15, at St. John’s Episcopal Church. Interment will be at Christiansted Cemetery.
