Police on St. Croix are investigating two recent incidents, one in which a house was robbed in broad daylight, and another in which shots were fired, the V.I. Police Department reported Friday.

The Criminal investigation Bureau is following up on both cases.

Police were called to Estate Castle Burke Wednesday where a resident told police she had been outside her home at about 1 p.m. talking to a neighbor. When she went back inside she discovered that two flat screen televisions were missing. The front door to her home had been left open, the resident said.

Just before 9:30 p.m. Thursday, a resident of the Golden Rock Apartments told police he heard gunshots and heard an impact. He said he looked outside his home and found a projectile by his apartment. At that time, police were investigating a discharge of shots near the Harborview apartments and collected several spent shell casings near building 19.

Anyone with information about either incident can police at 1-340-712-6037 or 1-340-712-6077, 911 or the anonymous tip service Crime Stoppers USVI at 1-800-222-TIPS.
