VIWMA Apologizes for Trash Overflow

0

The V.I. Waste Management Authority apologizes to the St. Thomas community for the current trash overflow situation occurring throughout various parts of the island, including the western end and the Charlotte Amalie town area.
One of the contracted haulers was experiencing mechanical difficulties with its equipment, affecting house to house receptacles 6, 8 and 20-yard bins. The authority’s Solid Waste Division is currently working with the staff and other contracted haulers to address this situation in a timely manner.
It is anticipated that scheduled collections will resume in the affected areas shortly.
