GERS Announces Launch of New Self-Service Module

0

The Government Employees Retirement System has announced the launch of its new Member Self-Service module, which is a software application that exists as a safe and secured Web/Internet page and provides member access to data that they have on file with the GERS. Members will be able to view their personal data, do annuity estimates, download forms and applications, view annuity payroll stubs and more, according to a press release issued Tuesday by the GERS.
In preparation for the March 15th launch, demonstrations will be conducted to familiarize and assist members and retirees with the module. These demonstrations will be held on all three islands, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. as follows:
• Monday, March 11: St. Thomas at GERS Complex – first floor Tech Center
• Wednesday, March 13: St. John at The St. John Administrator’s Office, Cruz Bay
• Thursday, March 14: St. Croix at GERS Complex, Orange Grove
GERS reminds retirees that effective with the March 15 payroll, a new tri-fold annuity check will be issued to those individuals still receiving a check. Additionally, GERS will no longer issue check stubs to direct deposit recipients. Retirees will have access to their paystub information through the Member Self-Service at www.usvigers.com.
“We are very excited about bringing this technology to our members as it will place information directly at their fingertips,” said Mr. Nibbs. It is also expected that in the near future, members would be able to complete and submit forms and applications through the self-service module.
For more information, call the Member Services Division at 776-7703 on St. Thomas or 718-5480 on St. Croix.
