Bergs Home Head Start Center Remains Closed

0

The Head Start Center in Bergs Home will remain closed on Thursday, according to a press release issued Wednesday by the Virgin Islands Department of Human Services
The center was closed on Wednesday for an emergency staff meeting concerning the recurrent hostile activity in the surrounding area. In the legislative hearing on Wednesday with the Committee on Health, Hospitals, Human Services and Veteran Affairs, Commissioner Christopher Finch expressed concern for the safety of the children and staff. He expressed his intent to find a building that meets federal standards to administer Head Start classes. Parents will be notified on a day to day basis if the center will reopen as management considers alternatives to continue classroom sessions.
