0

As part of their Finer Womanhood Celebration, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. — Nu Chi Zeta Chapter donated personal care items to the Lighthouse Mission on Saturday, April 6. Etta Mitchell, the chapter president, said, “It is important for us to give back to our community and for us to collaborate with other organizations in their efforts of improving the quality of life for children, women, men and the elderly.” Debbie Cullen graciously accepted the donations on behalf of the Lighthouse Mission and stated that she looked forward to working with the organization on upcoming projects.
The items were donated by the members of the sorority and included band-aids, combs/brushes, deodorant, toothpaste and toothbrushes, soaps and first aid kits. The Lighthouse Mission is an emerging faith-based community service organization committed to enriching the lives of people within the community by serving, encouraging, teaching and challenging children and adults alike to find meaning and purpose in life through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. As part of their outreach efforts and Zeta Helping Other People Excel (ZHOPE) initiatives, the sorority chose this non-profit organization because of the common goal of helping the less fortunate in the community without expecting any exchange or profit.
