Rowan Hanley Sr., better known as “Glenroy,” died at the age of 58. He lived at Savan, St. Thomas, and was originally from Charlestown, Nevis.
He is survived by his son, Rowan Hanley Jr.; sisters: Jeanette Pemberton (St. Croix), Lornette Morris (England), Valarie Lawrence (Florida), Bernadette Lapsey (Rhode Island) and Wendy Merton (Nevis); brothers: Curtley Maloney (Fla.), Anthony Earl, Edison Maloney (Texas), Leroy Drew (England) and Collis Maloney (St. Kitts); aunts: Evelyn Freeman (Nevis), Rosalie Scafe (Fla.), Irene Thomas (St. Thomas), Kephream Moses (England) and Hyacinth Liburd (Nevis); uncles: Keith Maloney, Evans Maloney (England), Sydney Maloney (California) and Spencer Smith (Anguilla); and cousins: Keith Maloney, Evans Maloney (England), Sydney Maloney (California) and Spencer Smith (Anguilla).
He is also survived by brothers-in-law: Hugh Pemberton (St. Croix), Earl Morris (England) and Joseph Morton (Nevis); sisters-in-law: Sylvia Maloney (Fla.), Rachael Williams (Texas), Connie Drew (England) and Denise Maloney (St. Kitts); nieces and nephews: Rolston, Debra, Jenissa, Tamara, Melissa, Kendal, Dexter, Tex, Jelani, Janise, Jamila, Jessica, Anthony, Sherilane, Robbie, Rodel, Abija, Keryn, Dayna, Nickolas, Qadamawi, Zaire and many more; relatives and friends: Emelda Best, Vanissa Wilkinson, the Coca Cola Bottling Co. family, Kenneth “Farmer” Hanley and family, and the Nisbeth family of Chapel Street (Nevis); as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
A viewing and tributes will be held at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 23, at Davis Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at Eastern Cemetery.
