Police on St. Croix are investigating a pair of Wednesday armed robberies that happened in different locations.

No one was injured in either robbery, the V.I. Police Department said.

Police responded to a report of a robbery about 12:30 a.m. at El Nuevo Tunnel Bar on Queen Cross Street in Frederiksted. The owner of the business told police she was closing when two masked and armed men approached her and demanded money.

The victim gave the suspects an undisclosed amount of money that she had in her pocket. She said one suspect had a light complexion and the other suspect had a dark complexion. They were both between 5 feet, 4 inches and 5 feet, 5 inches tall, both wearing dark clothing, with stocking caps over their faces, and carrying handguns. The suspects fled on foot.

Another robbery occurred before 11 a.m. in Estate Peter’s Rest. The two male victims told police they were repairing a car on the side of the road when they were approached by a slim black male wearing a black long sleeved hoodie, black gloves and a mask. The suspect was carrying a long gun, the victims said.

The suspect demanded money and their cell phones, which they gave him. The suspect fled into nearby bushes.
