Sheldon Maurice Phillips of Estate Adventure Hill died on July 7. He was 31 years old.
He was preceded in death by his uncles: Leonard and Hanschell Swanston, Vernon Phillips and Ronald Sackey.
He is survived by his mother, Helen Sackey-Phillips; father: Vincent M. Phillips ("Mr. Courtesy"); grandmother, Nelarine Sackey; godparents: Raphaela Albany, Laverne Hodge, Elroy Hector, and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Baker; sisters: Sonia Menzies and Reevah Phillips; adopted brother, Melvin Hodge; brother-in-law, Carl Menzies; son, Ke’Sean A. Phillips; adopted daughter, Zhara Jameson; niece, Kimoya S. Owens; aunts: Yvonne Sackey-Payne, Evelyn Swanson, Marvelle Duporte, Amorelle Swanston, Bernadine Morgan, Nathalie Swanston, Idona Byron, Carmen Bastian, Patricia Dublin, Rosy Sackey, Alma P. Christensen, Julia Swanston, Benita John, and Marva and Moureen Pickering; uncles: Uhral, Bernard, Elroy, Elton ("Ras Abudah") and Glenroy Swanston, and Clairmont, Glen and Raymond Sackey; special friends: Isabel Urgent, Kevin Troutman, Vladimir Williams, Jason Perpie, Jamal "Bam Bam" Williams, Tremaine Seales, James Omari Applewhaite and Rashidi Clenance; as well as cousins, other relatives, extended families and friends too numerous to mention.
The family requests that joyful colors be worn but, please, no red.
There will be a viewing at 9:30 a.m. and a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 22, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Frederiksted Cemetery.
