Police on St. Croix are investigating two armed robberies that occurred in Estate Williams Delight. No one was injured, according to a statement from the V.I. Police Department.

At 8:30 p.m. Monday, a male victim told police he was approached by three armed men dressed in black and with their faces covered with black shirts. They threatened the victim, took cash and the keys to his silver Jeep Wrangler from his pocket, he said. The three suspects got into the victim’s jeep and drove off in a western direction, traveling out of Williams Delight.

At 9:20 p.m. Tuesday, a woman told police she was visiting a friend when three armed men dressed in black approached her. The suspect’s faces were covered with white T-shirts. One suspect demanded the gold chain that was around her neck. When the victim froze, the men robbed her and fled the area on foot.

In both cases, police searched the surrounding areas for suspects. An all-points-bulletin has been issued for the stolen Jeep Wrangler, which bears the license plate number CEN-648.

St. Croix Police Chief James Parris said the robberies might be related. Officers have increased patrols in the area and are conducting additional initiatives to deter crime.
