Crime Stoppers pays. Let’s make sure that crime doesn’t pay. If you know something, say something, as law enforcement cannot control crime without the help of the law abiding community.

St. Croix: On Aug. 18 about 5 a.m., a 59-year-old woman was walking with her 4-year-old grandson along North Shore Road in the area of the doctor’s offices west of the District Court. She was struck and killed by a hit and run driver. The vehicle has been described as a black or dark colored Suzuki Vitara, Grand Vitara or Sidekick. The car sustained damage to the front chrome bumper and possibly to the hood, side panels and windshield. Police are asking the public and all body and car repair shops to notify them or Crime Stoppers immediately if you see a vehicle that fits this description. Please help bring closure for the family and keep in mind the trauma experienced by this young child who was left at the scene. Please make that call if you know something.

St. John: On Aug. 18 about 1:35 a.m., police received a 911 call from a resident at Bellevue who stated that while she was sleeping a burglar entered her home. When she screamed, he left with her multicolored handbag containing money, IDs and credit cards. The intruder is described as being young, short, small-built, black and male. He may have sustained scratches to his face or body. Please help police identify this burglar.
