Mavis V. Henley died on Sept. 6, at her residence. She was 84 years old.
She is survived by her husband, Alvin O. Henley; daughters: Leonice Smith, Janice Henley, Denise Henley-Smith and Lorna Henley; sons: Calvin, Melvin and Vincent Henley; adopted daughter, Roselyn Bedminster; daughters–in-law: Catherine and Shamika Henley; and son-in-law, Stanley “Pappy” Smith.
She is also survived by grandchildren: Jamel Rivera, LeeRoy and Wilbert Smith, Kenrick Huyghue Sr., Monique Pondt, Judith, Sharla, Shanique, Jermaine and Elijah Henley, Calmin Rivera, Kelvin, Vincent Jr., Malikai and Shade Henley, Latoya Willis-Sylvester, Deja and Quadry Smith, Lamar and Jerome Henley; 30 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; sisters: Ethel Trotman-Thomas, Mary Lucille Mardenborough, Jeany Hodge and Dr. Adelle Belle Barry; brothers: Calvin D. Clyne and Darrell “Freddy” Clyne; as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
There will be a viewing held at 3 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 4 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 20, at Christchurch Methodist, Market Square, St. Thomas.
There will also be a viewing held at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21, at Cane Garden Bay Baptist Church in Cane Garden Bay, Tortola, British Virgin Islands. Interment will be in the Cane Garden Bay Cemetery.
