V.I. Next Generation Network Updates Public on Network Build

Virgin Islands Next Generation Network (viNGN) informs the public that Network Build will commence for the week of Oct. 7.
Update:
On St. Thomas, asphalt road repair will continue on Julian Jackson Drive near VIPA Fire Station. Intermittent road excavation will continue along Julian Jackson Drive and Brewers Bay Road from Vitema to Black Point Hill (Route 30). During this process flag men would be directing traffic around the excavation at different points along Route 30.
On St. John, aerial fiber installation will continue along Centerline Road from the roundabout to Vitema and Public Works at Estate Susannaberg.
On St. Croix, manholes and pull points will be installed along Centerline Road from Estate Diamond to the UVI intersection. Similarly, road repair will continue along Centerline Road from Whim Intersection to Estate Diamond. During this process, flagmen will be directing traffic around the manhole construction at different points along Centerline Road, there will be no redirection of traffic away from Centerline Road.
Aerial fiber installation will continue along Northshore Road near La Valley and East End Road from Cotton Valley to Christiansted town.
Motorists are asked to follow traffic directions for the safety of crews, pedestrians and other drivers.
V.I. Next Generation Network is in the process of connecting community anchor institutions with reliable high-speed Internet services and strengthening external broadband connections that will improve access to online educational, healthcare and government services to residents.
V.I. Next Generation Network (viNGN) is a wholly owned public corporation that was organized to create the broadband middle mile fiber optic network. It was funded primarily from a grant by the National Telecommunications Information Administration (NTIA) as part of a federal program to improve broadband capacity in the territories.
