GERS Members Must Call First to Apply for a Loan

0

The Government Employees Retirement System (GERS) advises members that effective immediately, when applying for a loan, they will be required to call in to have their name placed on a daily listing. This will ensure that persons coming in on a specific day will be seen on that day. Walk-in applicants will no longer be accepted, according to a press release issued Wednesday by the GERS.
This process was initiated on a trial basis at the beginning of the loan processing season in October 2013 and was very successful. It significantly reduced the amount of time it took members to be seen by a loan officer and helped the staff to effectively manage its workflow.
GERS continues to look for ways to better serve its members and to practice efficiency in daily operations.
