Police on St. Croix are investigating a shooting reported Sunday by the Gov. Juan F. Luis Memorial Hospital.
The 32-year-old male victim was shot in his upper right arm by an unknown person.
The victim told police that just before 11 p.m. Sunday he was at the Williams Delight bus shanty talking on his cell phone when he heard a gunshot and realized he had been injured. He said a person he knows took him to the hospital.
According to the V.I. Police Department report, the victim does not know who shot him and does not know why anyone would shoot him. He said he did not see any persons or vehicles in the area.
The case will be followed up by the Criminal Investigation Bureau detectives, police said.
Not a delight to be in Williams Delight.
