Josephine Maria Bennerson of Estate Whim died on Jan. 28. She was 89 years old.
She is survived by her, daughter, Elinor Dolores Berrios; son, Howard Eugene Perry; grandchildren: Leola and James Reed; great-grandchildren: Jasmine, Jacquelynm and Jocelyn Reed, and Blaise Jenkins; great-great grandchildren: Ricky and Shane Watkins; goddaughter, Louise Smith; nieces: Denise, Melissa, Sheniece, LeAnna, LeNina, JoAnn and Etna Bennerson; and nephews: James Bennerson II, James Bennerson III, Gregory "JR" Bennerson Jr., Daniel and Julian Bennerson, and Ali Mike Bennerson.
She is also survived by cousins: Baraka, Gina, Fatima, Yasmina, Mursal, Murshida and Murshiwra Bennerson, Marguerite Jackson, Theresa Mohamed, Helena Bennerson, Richard Schrader, Vera Williams, Alfredo James, Iris James, Rosalie Francis, Amelia Owens, Louise Smith, Linwood and Yvette Bennerson, and many more; decades-long friends: Johnny and Otto Tranberg, Mary Pennyfeather, Mrs. Gore, Derrick Cole, Dotty Townsend and many more; young friends and companions: Jaheem, Jah-Reema and Jah-Nobia Pryce. Care givers were essential to her well being throughout her later years. The family thanks profusely Jasmin George, Michelle Hurley and Precious Yarwood. Your many kindnesses are much appreciated.
Tributes will be given at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 10, at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church. Interment will be at Frederiksted Cemetery.
