The Positive Vibes Continue to Dominate

0

The Positive Vibes continued their dominance of the St. Thomas Region when they won their second straight title defeating the UWS 3-0 in Tuesday night’s action at the Lionel Roberts Stadium. The Vibes rebounded from their loss to the Haitian Victory although they had three players who were unavailable due to red card suspensions.
After a goalless first half, the Vibes’ Dionis Stephen scored a left footer from a free kick for a 1-0 lead early in the second half. Orande James doubled the score when he scored the Vibes’ second goal from a Stephen corner. James was again the hit man when he scored the third goal directly from a corner. The loss, however, does not hamper the UWS’ chances of making the Big Four as they play the Raymix on Sunday, when a win for either team would put them through.
In the late game, the resurgent Laraza made it two in a row when they defeated the Togetherness 4-3. The Laraza took the early lead when brothers Carlos Claxton and Fitzroy Huggins scored in the 12th and 13th minute, respectively. The score remained 2-0 at the half. Early in the second half, Claxton again scored to make it 3-0 before Elvis Otto scored for the Togetherness to reduce the lead to 3-1. The Laraza’s Jahfimba Barnes scored to make it 4-1 before Otto and Eldondane Francis each scored for the Togetherness for the final margin of victory.
Action continues on Thursday when the Haitian Victory face the Waitikubuli at 6:45 p.m., followed by the New Vibes and the Positive Vibes. The New Vibes and the Haitian Victory are battling for the second position.
