Vernon James Jr., also known as "Bucky," of Estate Mt. Pleasant, died on March 12. He was 33 years old.
He is survived by his mother, Louise E. James; father, Vernon James Sr.; brothers: Marvin V. Lawrence and Kamal James; nieces: Harmony and Chey’rese James; nephew, Kamal James Jr.; aunts: Rosalia Sackey, Pearline Boynes, Marion O. O’Reilly, Marilyn Gumbs (St. Thomas), Carol James, Aurelia Bailey and Sheryl George; uncles: Roosevelt Lee, James Civil, Victor Cornelius, Neville Lee (deceased), Rubio, Alonzo and William James (N.Y.C.); godparents: Iris Boilling and Atlea Marshall; and godchildren: Nafeem, Azion and Anjai Mcintosh.
He is also survived by special friends: Ethlane Brown, Nicola Newton, Jenifer Mota, Sekou George, Edwin Robert (St. John), Alphanice Mead (St. John), Desiree Crosley, Kiijah Todman Daniel, Kendall Petersen and family, friends from SFG, Shemika Nathaniel and Nyah O’Reilly; and cousins: Nantan Mcintosh, Delroy Ross, Elroy Ross Jr., Jacqueline Frett, Joycelyn and Jaslyn Lee, Henry James, James Civil Jr., Christina Claxton, Kyara, Amorette Simmonds, Kareem Jones and Charles Rawlins.

There will be a viewing held at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 27, at Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Upper Love (near Anally Farm). Interment will be at Kingshill Cemetery.
