Positive Vibes Wins St. Thomas' Super League

0

The St. Thomas Region’s Soccerama and league champions the Positive Vibes added another title to their 2013-14 season when they edged the New Vibes 1-0 in St. Thomas’ Super League action at the University of the Virgin Islands grounds on April 6.
All the Positive Vibes needed for the victory was an early Orande James goal. The team missed good opportunities to extend its lead, but it did not have to regret them as the New Vibes were unable to score. The closest the New Vibes came to scoring was late in the second half when the Positive Vibes’ quick advancing goal keeper, Jermaine Riley, stymied a Richard Allen breakaway. The New Vibes in an effort to get the equalizer, which was all they needed to advance, reverted to a long-ball style that did not help their cause.
The New Vibes, which is the only team to have won three USVI Club Championships thus far, will relinquish their title as the Positive Vibes will face the St. Croix winner, the Helenites, in a home and away encounter starting next Sunday (April 13) at the Addelita Cancryn grounds. Both the Helenites and the Positive have won two previous USVI Club Championships the other winners were the M.I. Roc Master, the UWS and the Haitian Superstars.
