Doreen Yvonne Williams of Estate Peter’s Rest died on June 18 at the Governor Juan F. Luis Hospital & Medical Center. She was 71 years old.
She is survived by her son, Brian Gardine; sisters: Raphalia Williams-Watson and Leila Williams-Carty; nieces: Janice Thomas, Rena Thomas, Tricia Thomas, Marsha Rivera-Gordon, Maritza Rivera, Beverly Rivera-Walters, Indera Rivera-Edwards, Judy Rivera-Gerard, Charlene Phipps, Esther Williams, Lorrianna Brodhurst, Justina Encarnacion, Brenda and Myrtle Meyers, Helen Haynes-Session, and Venaida and Monica Williams; and nephews: Gary Thomas, Egbert Thomas III, Clinton Phipps, Clayton Phipps, Clayton Williams Jr., Rishawn Watson, Ryan Watson, Iril Williams Jr., Trent Williams, Michael Haymes, Allan Haymes and Keithroy Williams.
She is also survived by her aunt, Henrietta Julius (SKB); sister-in-law, Merline Williams; brother-in-law, Egbert V. Thomas II; cousins: the Romney family, the Williams family, the Belle family, the Skelton family and the Watson family (SKB); godmother, Camille Larsen; godchilden: Janine Hector, Egbert V. Thomas III, Joel Gifft and others; special friends: Josephine Hector, Doreen Walters, Elaine Williams, James Williams, Ferryneisa Benjamin, Emelda Thomas, Cleone Llanoes, Lorraine Night / Gifft, Esther Joseph, Roy and Dawn Rey, Marcelo Felix and Leola F. Carrol, Norma Gardine-Glenn, Catherin Braham and Elaine Etienne; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
A viewing will be held at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 27, at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church. Interment will be at Christiansted Cemetery.
