Save money with a summer getaway to one of the territory’s small hotels thanks to the Tourism Department’s Virgin Islands Nice promotion. Book now through Aug. 31 for travel until Sept. 30. Indicate you’re booking under the SHP-VINice promotion.
"We’re pleased to be able to showcase the U.S. Virgin Islands’ smaller lodging options," Tourism Commissioner Beverly Nicholson-Doty said in a press release issued Thursday. "This special deal highlights the diverse range of intimate, value-for-money accommodations, from charming historic inns and romantic B&Bs to self-contained villas and eco campgrounds.”
The added bonus, she said, is “that no passports are required for U.S. citizens makes the U.S. Virgin Islands an easy place to getaway this summer."
The promotion is available on St. Thomas at Bellavista Bed & Breakfast, The Green Iguana, Island View Guest House, The Mafolie Hotel, Villa Marbella, and Virgin Islands Campground on Water Island.
Participating properties on St. Croix include Arawak Bay: The Inn at Salt River, Cane Bay Cottages, Holger Danske Hotel, Northside Valley and Villa Margarita.
On St. John, stay at Coconut Coast Villas.
Book a stay of five consecutive nights at one of the participating properties to receive an eco-friendly welcome gift bag, which includes $500 in V.I. Nice certificates that can be used at participating attractions, retailers and restaurants across the territory.
This offer is an extension of the broader Virgin Islands Nice 2014 summer marketing initiative developed by Tourism in partnership with local artist Delyno "Pressure Busspipe" Brown. His hit song "Virgin Islands Nice" is featured in the new 30-second national television commercial to support the campaign.
Usage of this special offer applies only to new bookings and is based on double occupancy. The offer does not include airfare and associated taxes or destination charges. A 10 percent hotel occupancy tax and hotel service charges must be paid on gross retail package price. Blackout dates and other restrictions may apply.
