WAPA Continues Reduced Feeder Rotation

The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority will continue its reduced feeder rotation schedule Wednesday for the St. Thomas/St. John district.

Repairs began Tuesday on unit 18 at the Randolph Harley Power Plant and were still under way as of Tuesday night. To ensure stability of the system, the reduced emergency feeder rotation schedule, which was established Tuesday, will be in effect Wednesday.

In its release Tuesday night announcing the continuation of the rotation schedule, WAPA said it implements the system based on the best available resources and in a manner that would ensure service is retained by as many residential and commercial customers as possible.

The feeder rotation schedule, which indicates the estimated time a feeder will be without service, is subject to change. A map of the St. Thomas feeder distribution network can be viewed here.

Wednesday’s schedule will be:
– 6 to 8 a.m. – 10A
– 8 to 10 a.m. – 8B, 7B
– 10 a.m. to noon – 7A, 7E, Ridge Road
– Noon to 2 p.m. – 7C, 9D, 9C

– 4 to 6 p.m. – 10A, 9A

WAPA Executive Director Hugo Hodge Jr. thanked business customers who agree to use their own generator power during WAPA’s emergency rotations to assist with reducing feeder loads. He also thanked the men and women of the authority who are working to return full service to customers.
