The Democratic Primary Election is over and we must collectively turn the page to begin another chapter and prepare for the upcoming General Election. On behalf of the gubernatorial team of Lieutenant Governor Gregory R. Francis and former Senator Patrick Simeon Sprauve we offer our congratulations to the winners of the Primary Election.
We thank our supporters, family and friends who worked tirelessly on our behalf to help us get our message to the people of the Virgin Islands. We thank our wives for their dedication, commitment and support thorough this campaign particularly my wife Cheryl who was very instrumental. We extend our deepest thanks on behalf of the entire Francis-Sprauve team to all who believed in our vision and who supported our pathway forward for a better Virgin Islands for all.
Our message to the people of the Virgin Islands was one of hope and grounded in uplifting the Territory through new and innovative policies and based on a foundation of civility, family values and integrity. Our mission focused on all Virgin Islanders, and especially spoke to those struggling to make a living. Our plan laid out a pathway to help residents uplift themselves through opportunities in job creation, education and training. We met numerous individuals while on the campaign trail who shared their personal stories with us. We heard the cry of the people, and our goal was to transform these islands into a place where Virgin Islanders could be content to live, work and retire. This is a critical time in the Territory’s history – one of sweeping changes and reform in healthcare, education, labor policy, energy, economic diversification, and many other areas.
There are defining moments in our lives and each person when called to contribute to the betterment of their community must be prepared to answer. Patrick Simeon Sprauve accepted the invitation to campaign as part of the Francis-Sprauve Team. His professional, political and personal contributions will always be appreciated; he has distinguished himself as a credit to the Virgin Islands and an asset to this Government.
The voters have spoken, and we respect their decision. We wish all the Democratic candidates running in the November 4th General Election good luck and best wishes in their endeavors.
