Wilhelmina Clarke, also known as "Baby," of Walter I.M. Hodge Pavilion died on Nov. 9. She was 89 years old.
She is survived by her daughters: Cecelia Dompierre, Helen Joseph, May Louise Joseph and Dorothy Joseph; son, Dennis A. Howell; adopted daughter, Sharon "Faffy" Dennis; and grandchildren: Jerrilyn Morris, Alma Richards, Rita Francis, Yvette Lynch, Pearlette Lynch Sheriff, Karol Lynch, Sheryl Roberts Naughton, Debra Rodgers, Sherilyn R. Moses, Jasmaine Edwards, Shakima Edwards, Marion Dompierre, Leslee Howell, Zina Joseph, Cecelia Edwards, Kate Howell, Vernon Edwards, Alfredo Edwards Jr. Ray Edwards, Troy Edwards, Earl "Dasa" Joseph, Casmore "Sonny" Warner, Dwayne Howell Sr., Duane Howell, Dwight Howell, Tyrone Sackey Jr., Chedley Moses, Kurt Sheriff and Reginald Naughton.
She is also survived by great-grandchildren: Kowasi, Latne, Shaquille, Sha’Tique, Rene Jr., Aliyah, Faheem, Naseem, Greg, Erroll,Jr., Rashaad, Akeem, Makalia, Medisha, Melaniqua, Shawn, Nadira, Nadaisha, Rasheema, Joman, Jaseim, Shinika, Shaheem, Nashika, Kimani, Shakimo, Shakeja, Shantelle, Amelia, Jasina, Melissa, Emmy, Ricardo, Jahmoya, Jenelle, Jahleem, Kiean, Jevonte, Neseteria, Ameriah, Reygene, Naj, Deshawn, Shanice, Hezekiah, Requan, Deron, Sonoya, Sacani, Askia, Amerah, Dwayne,Jr. and Eleanor Grace; adopted grandchildren: Barbara Williams, Marissa "Mary" Encarnacion and Diane Bryan; and daughter-in-law, Deborah Y. Howell.
Other survivors include sons-in-law: Joseph "Kiah" Roberts and Tyrone Sackey Sr.; niece, Inger Barry; nephew, Victor Barry; special friends: Yensina Matthews, Olga Lopez, Eugene McBean, Ralston Joseph and family, Elizabeth Martin, Beatrice Jonas and family, Winifred Violenes, Corlita Brown, Roma Williams, Medora Roberts and family, Eulalie Smith and Rasan Gumbs; cousins and other relatives: Ethlyn Seargent and family, Joycelyn Schuster, Pauline Harvey and family, Melita Menders and family, Dana Smith, Veronica "Cuty" Jeffrey and family, Christinita Scatliffe and family; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
A viewing will take place at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 21, at Friedensberg Moravian Church. Interment will be at Frederiksted Cemetery.
