Gubernatorial Candidate Donna M. Christensen, Lt. Gov. Candidate Basil Ottley and the entire Christensen-Ottley Campaign mourn the passing of DB (Donna/Basil) Team member Javier DeJesus, who was killed in an act of violence early Monday morning.
"Basil and I and the entire DB Team are extremely saddened and hurt by the passing of Javier and the violent way in which his life was taken," said Christensen. "Javier was a supporter from my earliest campaigns for delegate and was always there to lend a helping hand. He was a gentle spirit, always ready with a smile and a kind word," she said.
"Basil and I condemn the violence that has become too prevalent in our community and that has claimed too many of our friends and loved ones. Among the many things that must be addressed in our community are crime and violence and how to take the necessary steps to return the Virgin Islands to the safe place that we all know and love."
Christensen and Ottley extended their sincere condolences to the family and friends of Javier on his untimely passing. "May his soul rest in peace."
