Police Investigate Estate Humbug Homicide

Detectives on St. Croix are investigating the death of Trevor Pamphile, 24, who was found dead by the side of the road at 10:15 p.m. Monday in Estate Humbug, the V.I. Police Department announced.

It was the 17th homicide on St. Croix since the beginning of the year, the 34th in the territory.

According to police, officers were dispatched to the area to investigate shots fired. Upon arriving they found Pamphile’s unresponsive body on the side of the roadway. He had been struck by multiple gunshots.

The victim was wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans and red and white sneakers. He had an empty gun holster clipped to his waist.

Police also found a white Chevy Malibu with the engine running and several spent shell casings on the ground. Police said the vehicle was registered to the victim.

All the items found at the scene were collected for forensic and other testing.

This case is being investigated by the detectives of the Major Crime Bureau.
