  1. Three things the VI needs to do to reduce crime:
    1. Take your children to church and throw those violent video games away…the ones that are inculcating your children into becoming violent criminals.
    2. Create part time jobs for these young people….from 16 years of age to 22 years of age. Cleaning our streets and our beaches is a win win. Remember that these youngsters usually start selling weed or stealing (like the kids that shot up Cleopatra’s) to make their movie and going-out money. The smaller crimes usually develop into more violent ones. When I was 16, I was lucky to get a job with a lawyer downtown. Running errands, etc. I made $7 an hour for two hours work per day * 5 days = $70/week. I thought I was rich. More importantly, it kept me from getting involved with petty crimes.
    3. Relocate all violent criminals to the farthest jail possible. Alaska, if possible. No weekly visits from mommy, daddy, and all the cousins, plus no familiar faces, etc. When the inmate is finally released from his Alaska cell, he or his family has to pay the cost of returning him. Let him work on a crab boat out in the Bering Sea until he can raise the money to get back. The authorities here need to start getting creative to deter crime.
