The Virgin Islands Housing Authority (VIHA) will open the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) waiting list for the St. Thomas Senior Affordable Housing Development (Sugar Estates) on Feb. 1. Already under construction, Sugar Estates will be for senior citizens only (aged 62 and older). The waiting list is for vouchers that will be available for use only at the site.
It is anticipated that the units will be available for leasing in January 2016. Those who want to apply should contact VIHA’s HCV department at either of the VIHA central offices. Call 778-8422 on St. Croix or 714-0174 on St. Thomas. or visit the Web site at www.vihousing.org.
