Valerie Marie Prince died on June 7.

She was preceded in death by her father. Lloyd Otis Prince Sr.; mother, Catherine Lucas Prince; uncles: Patrick Lucas and James Lucas; aunt, May Louise Lucas Martinez; and niece, Catarina Castruccio-Prince.

Valerie is survived by her children: Nehemiah I. Prince (Danielle Prince), Esther Prince and Sarah C. Prince-Bethea (Eric C. Bethea); grandchildren: Nehemiah A. Prince, Ny’Asha C. Prince Clarke, Amani S. Prince, Catherine S. Prince-Bethea, Malachi A.Prince-Bethea and Mateo A. Prince-Bethea; and siblings: Lloyd O. Prince Jr. (Leslie Prince), Joseph G. Prince (Bernice Davis Prince), Theodore A. Prince (Amanda Ward-Prince), Catherine A. Prince and Annalisa M. Prince.

She is also survived by her uncle, Romeo O. Henderson; aunts: Gwendolyn M. Lucas, Isabel Prince-Tuitt, Carlotta P. Moorehead (Robert Moorehead) and Enid Danielson; nephew, Gabriel Prince; cousins: James Bennerson, T. Nicole Espinosa Scott and Kareem Lake; other close family and friends include the Richards family and Barbara Knight; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

Special thank you to the staff of Lutheran Social Services, Danish Gardens and the Eldra Schulterbrandt Residential Facility.

A Memorial Service will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Thursday, July 20, at American Legion Hall in Frederiksted. Professional funeral services are entrusted to James Memorial Funeral Home Inc.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Lutheran Social Services of the Virgin Islands in Valerie’s memory.
