A lone man robbed the Waterfront branch of the Bank of Nova Scotia on Monday morning. He got away with $4,500, according to Theodore Carty, deputy chief of Police.
This was the second robbery of a waterfront bank in the last five days. Chase Manhattan's waterfront branch, one block away, was robbed last Thursday by a lone gunman.
The robber was described as a Caucasian male, 5'5" and 150 pounds, wearing a brownish beard that could be fake, blue hat, dark shades and white T-shirt and carrying a courier bag.
The description of the robbery was reportedly similar to Thursday's heist.
The robber handed the teller a note saying he had a gun. When the teller handed over the cash, the robber took off on foot, running up the Waterfront where he turned into an alley, reportedly shedding items of clothing.
