Tickets are still available for the Julian Jackson Retirement Banquet Saturday, March 20.
Local boxing hero, Julian Jackson, will be honored at a retirement banquet at 7 p.m on Saturday March 20 at Frenchman's Reef.
Well known figures from the boxing world are expected to join in the tribute to Jackson that night, according to a release from Sen. Adlah "Foncie" Donastorg's office. Donastorg is assisting with planning the event.
Jackson, a local hero and role model, has had a very successful career, holding titles for both Junior Middleweight champion and Middleweight champion.
Donastorg called Jackson one of the "greatest athletes that this territory has produced…and a great human being."
A short film highlighting Jackson's career will be shown at the banquet.
