The week of March 22-26 was observed as Earthquake Awareness Week. In his proclamation message, Governor Turnbull warned of the vulnerability of the territory in the event of an earthquake.
Situated in the Anegada Trough, the residents must prepare for the possibility
of a quake that could occur at any time.
Seminars and workshops were conducted by VITEMA to inform residents of the Virgin Islands of the potential danger earthquakes pose to the territory.
