United Airlines' entry into the Virgin Islands travel market will be officially announced at a Government House press conference Wednesday afternoon.
United plans to offer Saturday and Sunday flights to St. Thomas from Chicago's O'Hare Airport and Washington, D.C.'s Dulles Airport beginning in November, as first reported by St. Thomas Source.
Three United officials will attend the press conference with Gov. Charles W. Turnbull and acting Tourism Commissioner Clement "Cain" Magras. They are Maria Sastre, vice president, Latin America and the Caribbean; Ben Barrocas, regional manager, Latin America and the Caribbean; and Gus Rubio, general manager, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
The press conference will begin at 3:30 p.m. in the second floor ballroom of Government House in St. Thomas.
