The Rules Committee approved two more nominations Friday, those of Claudette Farrington to head the Internal Revenue Bureau and Bernice Turnbull to be Finance commissioner.
The only "no" vote came from Sen. Adelbert M. Bryan against Farrington.
Questioning was generally milder than in previous confirmation hearings, the V.I. Independent reported.
Bryan suggested that Farrington was nominated because of her political and personal ties to Sen. George Goodwin and a former IRB head, Edward Thomas, now head of the West Indian Co. Ltd., according to the Daily News story.
Farrington also said the government will pay up to $1 million in income tax refunds next week, the Daily News reported.
