March 22, 2002 – North Shore Road will be closed between Route 72 near the Estate Glynn gas station and Route 80 at the Salt River entrance on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. while Water and Power Authority crews extend water lines in the area.
"Traffic will be re-routed through the Mon Bijou area along Route 73 while work is under way," a WAPA release stated. It said potable water service will not be affected.
"To maximize efficiency and reduce inconvenience to motorists," it said, "WAPA will complete this project before the Department of Public Works begins repaving the North Shore Road next week."
