Senator Celestino A. White, Sr. has written to Mr. Elie Finegold, owner of the former Yacht Haven Hotel, expressing his congratulations on the construction progress thus far for the new resort, soon to be constructed on the site.

However, Senator White took issue with the comments made by Mr. Finegold in the St. Thomas Source that nobody noticed the work going on, everything was thoughtfully and carefully done and that there was not one incident, no complaints.

My office has received numerous complaints from motorists and in particular residents at the Pearl M. Pearson Garden (P. M. P.) housing community and the Lucinda Millin Home for the Elderly of the enormous amount of dust that has come on the porches and along the road side. "While Rotarians loudly applauded your statement during your recent appearance before them, tenants residing in P. M. P Cooperative, our seniors and VIHA housing residents are choking," according to Senator White.

"I was of the opinion that there would have been continuous wetting of the grounds and road way during the construction phase to prevent the dust from becoming airborne and a nuisance to residents and motorist alike. I trust you would take immediate steps to remedy the situation," concluded Senator White.
