April 14, 2005 – In the Elmo Plaskett Little League East Wednesday night the Suns pushed their perfect record to 6 and 0 in the 11and 12 year-old division with a 16-4 win over the Yankees.
Jamoy Williams picked up the win and Felciano Cintron took the loss, which snapped the Yankees' two-game winning streak. The Indians got homeruns from William Tutein (2-2, HR, 5 RBIs) and Kalif Gerard (2-3, HR, 3 RBIs). Micky Garcia (2-3) and Akeem Harris (1-1) led the Yankees.
There are seven games on the schedule this weekend at D.C. Canegata Ballpark, Christiansted. Friday at 5:30 p.m. the Reds will be looking for their first win in six games as they face the Suns with a record of 2 wins and 3 losses in the 9 and 10 year-old division. At 7:30 p.m. it is an 11 and 12 year-old contest as the Suns (1-4) take on the undefeated Indians.
Saturday at 1 p.m. in the 7 and 8 year-old division, Lil Yankees I (2-1) are matched up against the Suns (0-3). That game is followed by the 5 and 6 year-old division contest between Toon Squad I (2-1) and Suns (1-1) at 3 p.m. In the last game at 5 p.m. it is a rematch of Wednesday's game between the undefeated Indians and Yankees in the 11and 12 year-old division.
Sunday all the games are in the Pee Wee divisions. Starting at 2 p.m. in the 7 and 8 year-old division, the Mets (1-1) go against Lil Yankees II (2-0). In the finale of the weekend at 4 p.m. the Suns return to face Toon Squad II (1-2) in the 5 and 6 year-old division.
