AARP Presents Hospital With Flags


Jun 5, 2005 – The American Association of Retired People has been meeting at the Governor Juan F. Luis Hospital and Medical Center "for many, many years," in the words of Steve R. Abrandts, President of AARP Chapter 3167, St. Croix, during AARP's meeting on Saturday, June 4.
In appreciation of that hospitality the AARP presenting a set of flags (United States and Virgin Islands) to the hospital.
Gregory Calliste, chief executive officer for the hospital, accepted the flags. He said that the AARP had always been "a good friend to the hospital" and the flags would be displayed as "symbol of that friendship."
He mentioned that he had spoke to the group in one of its recent monthly meeting and the group understood the efforts of the hospital to give St. Croix residents the "best possible care" and to "become the best hospital in the Caribbean."
The presentation took place in the Tropical Treats Café and about 50 people attended.
The St. Croix chapter takes a summer break and will not meet in July and August.
