A Halloween From the Heart Celebrated by Youths

Oct. 25, 2005 –The Good Hope School Parent's Organization and Lower School faculty are joining with UNICEF in a 55-year-old tradition of Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF and inviting the St. Croix community to join them.
A Kids Helping Kids Halloween has been a tradition for generations of Americans. For many children this is their first introduction to philanthropy and the needs of their peers in far-off lands.
According to a press release from the school, begun in 1950 with 15 kids collecting $17 in Philadelphia, last year, Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF raised nearly $5 million during Halloween, and demonstrated that children can be extraordinary advocates and fundraisers when given the right tools and motivation.
On Halloween night, The Good Hope Parent's Organization and Lower School children will be walking together in several neighborhoods collecting money for all the children left with nothing in the wake of a devastating hurricane season. Please contact the Good Hope Parent's Organization at 772-0022 or Good Hope Parents to join in making a difference this Halloween.
